Honor Our Heroes Delivers 500 Military Care Packages to the USO!

On Saturday October 15th the Prince of Peace Honor our Heroes committee culminated its 5th Annual Military Care Package Drive by delivering goods for more than 500 military care packages to the USO at DFW airport. These special packages, along with a card from a Prince of Peace parishioner, will let each deploying military member know we are grateful for their service and praying for them.

Alpha Course Brings Parishioners into Deeper Comminuity

For the past 6 weeks, Prince of Peace has been hosting Alpha on Wednesday evenings in the Cana Center. Throughout this exciting program, parishioners have been gathering to eat, socialize, and experience a safe environment to ask life’s biggest questions. The result? Deeper friendships, powerful shifts, and a renewed fire to go out and preach the Gospel.

Honor our Heroes Recieves Big Donation from School Children for their Annual Care Package Drive

As part of Honor Our Heroes Annual Care Package Drive, students from our POP school were asked to participate by donating socks and granola bars. They had a huge collection and we are so thrilled & grateful to the POP school community. A total of 964 pairs of black socks & 3260 granola bars were collected & will be distributed in our care packages to deploying troops out of DFW or Dallas Love Field.

Parishioners gather for outdoor “Sign the Steel” Event!

On Saturday morning, hundreds of parishioners stopped by the big tent on campus to get a sneak peek at the construction progress and for a chance to sign the steel!

Staff members gave guided tours of the construction site and parishioners were able to write Scripture verses or sign their autograph on the steel beams. Our artists from Italy flew into town to show off some of the progress they are making on our sanctuary art, and the Knight of Columbus were active making free snow cones to anyone who wanted one. It was a an amazing party and a great time for all who were able to be there!

Ministry Leaders Gather for 2nd Annual Ministry Leader Orientation

This past Saturday nearly 50 of our parish ministry leaders gathered for our second annual Ministry Leader Orientation event! Our ministry leaders participated in small group discussions, were given a walk-through of our Ministry Leader Handboook, prayed, and learned about the many ways that Prince of Peace can partner with them to make their ministries more effective.

Knight's Distribute BINGO funds to veterans

Deputy Grand Knight Martin Driscoll representing Knights of Columbus Council 11716 of Prince of Peace presents a check to Brigadier General (Ret.) Tom Landwermeyer, President & CEO of Homes For Our Troops. The Council donated $1687.50 to HFOT for the construction of a custom home for Marine Sgt. Quentin Hamilton injured in active duty. These funds represent a portion of the proceeds from the February PoP Knights of Columbus Bingo event.

Hamilton is the direct recipient of this Homes For Our Troops donation. Sgt. Hamilton was injured on active duty.
