POP Recieves Grant from The Catholic Foundation

Did you hear the GREAT NEWS!? Prince of Peace just received a $45,000 grant from The Catholic Foundation to go towards furnishing our Welcome Center! We are so honored and grateful to be the recipient of the award. Thank you, The Catholic Foundation!

The Catholic Foundation awarded $957,429 to 15 local schools, churches and community organizations during its 2022 fall grant ceremony today.

Funded by the Foundation’s unrestricted Philanthropy Fund as well as funds established by individuals and families to carry out their charitable goals, the grants support various projects including technology enhancements, HVAC repair, mental health programming, student lockers, security upgrades, parish welcome center furnishings, pharmacy expansion and a donation delivery truck.

"These grants will make a lasting and notable impact throughout the greater Dallas community,” said Matt Kramer, president and CEO of The Catholic Foundation. “We appreciate the generosity of our donors past and present who make the grants possible. We’re also very grateful to our board of trustees who evaluate each grant request which includes a site visit to learn about the specific needs of each organization.”

Twice per year, The Catholic Foundation distributes community grants to local Catholic churches and schools and nonprofit organizations. Grant requests are reviewed by the board of trustees’ Distribution Committee, followed by documented site visits by trustees through which the recipients and funding amounts are determined.

Over time, The Catholic Foundation has provided more than $250 million in grants to religious, charitable and educational organizations. In 2021, The Catholic Foundation awarded 2,400 grants totaling more than $21.5 million.
