As you know and can see, our Building Project has shifted into high gear and is progressing very nicely! In fact, we are taking advantage of an opportunity to accelerate the timeline for the School Administration Office demolition and construction (Phase 2), with preparation having begun February 17th. This allows for work on the school side to be largely completed in time for the start of the new school year in August and will minimize disruption to our school children and teachers during the academic year.
As you may have noticed, the corridor coming from the Atrium and leading to the School and Parish offices, is closed - this includes access to the Brides Room, Nursery, Atrium restrooms, lobby, school front office, Principal’s office, church workroom and kitchen, St. Katherine’s Hall and the upstairs Main Conference Room and Loft. The Columbarium, currently open for Sunday visitation, will be closed again beginning on March 1, as construction on the Sanctuary and Chapel continue. The entrance/reception areas for both the Parish and School offices will be relocated as this phase of construction begins (details will be available on our website).
We recognize the temporary inconvenience this creates for our parishioners, but we remain excited about what’s to come and the abundance of meeting and gathering spaces that will be available once construction is complete. For weekly construction updates join our flocknote at flocknote.com/popplano.
