Hey, everyone! We have some incredible news to share that fills us with immense pride and joy. Our very own Father Michael recently traveled to New Orleans to witness a remarkable moment as architect Kevin Harris accepted the esteemed A. Hayes Town Award from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
Let's take a step back and appreciate the journey that led to this extraordinary accomplishment. It all began when Father Michael approached architect Kevin Harris with a special request: to design a convent for the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecelia. What followed was a creative collaboration that surpassed all expectations.
Although it was later decided that the convent would not be built, the drawings and designs that emerged from this project were nothing short of breathtaking. Both Father Michael and Kevin Harris were disappointed, as they had poured their hearts into the vision of a convent that would have been truly remarkable. However, they decided not to let their beautiful work go unnoticed.
Kevin Harris saw an opportunity to showcase their collective talent and submitted the drawings for this national competition. And guess what? The design caught the eye of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, earning Kevin Harris the prestigious A. Hayes Town Award!
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Father Michael for his vision and inspiration, and to Kevin Harris for his exceptional skill in bringing that vision to life. Together, they have shown us the power of collaboration and the beauty that can emerge from unexpected circumstances.
As a community, let's celebrate this remarkable achievement and show our support and admiration for Father Michael and Kevin Harris. Their dedication to their craft and their unwavering commitment to excellence are an inspiration to us all.
