KOC International Convention!

This is our Texas outfit.  We wore this at the hospitality room and walking around on day 1.  There were about 40 of us from all over the state of Texas.  From Prince of Peace were me, Monique and Ricardo Guzman.  Ricardo is our wheelchair representative that lives in Allen but attends POP.  Ricardo was there with Chris Lewis and they were taking care of the Knights wheelchair booth.  Texas has donated almost $1 million to this ministry.

Three cheers for Dan Stoffel who just returned from the Knights of Columbus International Convention! In Dan's words, "This was a big deal...it is the Super Bowl of conventions for the Knights each year. Last year it was held in Nashville, this year was Orlando and next year is Quebec."

They had a room with about 12 relics from saints.  Here are just a few of them....John Paul II, Mother Teresa and Father Michael McGivney (The founder of the Knights of Columbus).

This is the alter for mass.   They had a jumbo-tron to change the background each day.  It was amazing.

the stage and set up for the daily masses.  Each morning they started with a mass.  The beginning procession took about 10 minutes.  They had 2 cardinals (Dolan form New York and Dinardo from Houston), also about 30 bishops from all over the world Ukraine, Poland, Mexico, Texas....and about 50 priests from all over the world.

The highest award the Knights give out each year is called the Guadium et Spes Award.  Past recipients have been Mother Teresa and Cardinal O'Connor.  This year the award went to Sister Agnes Mary Donovan.  That is her in the photos
