🇺🇸✨ Honoring the brave with faith and remembrance! 🕊️ On December 16, members of our Honor Our Heroes Ministry and Knights of Columbus came together at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery for Wreaths Across America.

Mr. Ed Kelly, Pursor of the Knights of Columbus - Dallas Diocese, visited our school, Prince of Peace Catholic School, to announce the winners of the annual Veterans Day poster contest, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Assembly #3642. Contest winners in grades 5-8 created beautiful designs to convey their appreciation for veterans’ sacrifices, which Mrs. Good then hung through the hallways to welcome heroes in attendance for our Veterans Day Program and weekend Mass celebrations.

On Saturday, October 21st, over 70 volunteers gathered to pack 500 Care Packages to be given to deploying troops through the USO! Each box contained 21 much-needed items, providing the soldiers with things not readily found during deployment.

This past Saturday, our dedicated Ministry Leaders at Prince of Peace gathered in our brand new Parish Hall for the third annual Ministry Leader Orientation, and it was nothing short of spectacular!

What better way to celebrate our heroes and the upcoming Fourth of July than by installing flags around our beloved campus? This morning, our Honor Our Heroes ministry gathered at Prince of Peace to spread patriotic joy throughout the community!

As we gather in unity and reverence to observe Memorial Day, we wanted to share with you some photos of some devoted members of the Honor Our Heroes Ministry who demonstrated an exceptional act of gratitude by distributing poppies after all the weekend Masses.

On Saturday October 15th the Prince of Peace Honor our Heroes committee culminated its 5th Annual Military Care Package Drive by delivering goods for more than 500 military care packages to the USO at DFW airport. These special packages, along with a card from a Prince of Peace parishioner, will let each deploying military member know we are grateful for their service and praying for them.

As part of Honor Our Heroes Annual Care Package Drive, students from our POP school were asked to participate by donating socks and granola bars. They had a huge collection and we are so thrilled & grateful to the POP school community. A total of 964 pairs of black socks & 3260 granola bars were collected & will be distributed in our care packages to deploying troops out of DFW or Dallas Love Field.

This weekend the Honor our Heroes Ministry kicked-off it’s 5th Annual Care package drive!
They hope to fill 500 care packages of simple yet critically needed items to be given to our brave service members.

This past Saturday nearly 50 of our parish ministry leaders gathered for our second annual Ministry Leader Orientation event! Our ministry leaders participated in small group discussions, were given a walk-through of our Ministry Leader Handboook, prayed, and learned about the many ways that Prince of Peace can partner with them to make their ministries more effective.

Ahead of the 4th of July, our Honor Our Heroes Ministry decorated our campus with American flags. We are so grateful to these patriotic parishioners who helped us commemorate this special holiday. Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Prince of Peace!

Because of your generosity, our Honor Our Heroes Ministry collected over $2000! This money will go towards sending care packages to our active-duty POP prayer list members.

This joyful crew worked hard to place flags along the perimeter and campus walkways! When you see the flags this weekend, remember to pray for our Veterans, especially those who have given their lives defending our freedoms.

On Saturday, December 17, Prince of Peace’s Honor our Heroes Ministry in partnership with the Knights of Columbus, traveled to the Fort Worth National Cemetery for the annual Wreaths Across America event.
